You might have already started packing away your summery butter yellows for fall-ready chocolate browns and burgundy reds, but halt! Sabrina Carpenter says the shade can stay for the autumnal days ahead.
The pop star and previous Vogue cover star stepped out for an SNL-hosted dinner in Hell’s Kitchen, New York; she wore a yellow, densely knitted off-the shoulder mini dress paired with matching, slouchy calf-length socks, and perspex and silver Manolo Blahnik Sedaraby D’orsay pumps with a bejewelled brooch at the toes. To finish the look, she slung an iridescent caviar quilted double flap Chanel bag (picked up from pre-loved designer bag haven Fashionphile) in pale yellow over her shoulder. Carpenter also wore her blonde hair voluminous and curly, with bright pink blusher on her cheeks to add to the disco-y feel. From what was seen on the fall 2025 runways of Ferragamo to Tom Ford, the opulent, sexy, polished dressing of the ’80s will live large this season—Sabrina is just taking it up a notch with her own super feminine, playful fashion formula.
The chunky knit, with its pale yellow and white yarn, sits within the color spectrum that had summer dressing in a chokehold (as seen on everyone from Bella Hadid to Hailey Bieber and Jennifer Lawrence). Her Chanel-of-choice is a bold, Kerrygold-esque shade.
It seems like paler shades like periwinkle blue, lilac, and butter yellow still have something to say for transeasonal dressing. And while you might not be up for replicating Sabrina’s full Flashdance-y look, a pale knit and popping accessories are your way into a color-agnostic fall.
Carpenter will be doing double duty this weekend on Saturday Night Live, both hosting and performing, and follows Bad Bunny and Doja Cat’s appearances. Doja Cat, for one, brought lacey avant-garde Quine Li and animal print Balmain, a shimmering rose appliqué bodysuit by The Blonds, and a bodysuit made of strips of plaid, polka dot, and rose fabrics—it was a whole fashion spectacle.
No doubt Sabrina Carpenter has a seriously sparkly, showgirl-coded wardrobe ready. Across her tour and recent headline performances, Carpenter has slipped into glitzy archival Bob Mackie gowns, Versace mini-dresses, and custom Dolce Gabbana with a western twist. All eyes on Sabrina Carpenter-Sabrina Carpenter SNL this weekend!
