Vogue World: Hollywood may have been all about the movies, but the show had some pretty impressive musical talent on hand, too. Besides Gracie Abrams and Doja Cat—both of whom delivered show-stopping performances on the Paramount Studios runway—the lineup also included cameos from the likes of Conan Gray (sporting an original costume from last year’s Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown), María Zardoya, and the 20-year-old pop phenom Sombr.
The musician—né Shane Michael Boose—took a quick break from touring his debut studio album, I Barely Know Her, to storm the Vogue World catwalk on Sunday, dressed in a shimmery golden blazer, patterned waistcoat, and slim trousers from Gucci. (His appearance came during the show’s “Summer of Love” section, a fantasia of ’60s and ’70s-inspired textures and silhouettes.) He strutted alongside model Yasmin Wijnaldum, wearing Chrome Hearts.
Speaking to Vogue in September—right around the time when he all but shut down the 2025 VMAs with a thrilling medley of his songs “Back to Friends” and “12 to 12”—Sombr talked about how much fun he‘s been having, getting to live out his wildest rock-star fantasies.
“I remember a year and a half ago, I was feeling really low about the point I was at in my career,” he said. “And even then, I was still so privileged—just being able to do it full-time and play shows. But at the time I made a video where I was just talking to myself and manifesting where I wanted to go. And watching that video back now, it’s so crazy, because the version of me in that video, if he found out I was anywhere near where I am today, he would fucking lose his mind.” Hear, hear!
