For Vogue.com editors, there was no shortage of memorable moments this season, be they on the runway, backstage, behind the scenes at a photo shoot, or at Alber Elbaz’s Légion d’Honneur ceremony. My favorite moment of fashion month was watching my friend Alber Elbaz receive the Légion d’Honneur from the minister of culture Audrey Azoulay (astonishingly chic in Alaïa!). Alber managed to do the impossible: to give a beautiful speech about the timeless resilience of dressmakers while at the same time giving the finger (literally) to the larger fashion establishment. It was bold; it was funny; it was true. And he ended by explaining that instead of throwing a dinner to mark the day, he invited us to go back to our hotels, order room service, and eat a pizza. Bless him.
