As the dust begins to settle on the spring 2026 season, and all 15 designer debuts are officially in the rearview, we’re taking stock of what that means for celebrity style.
The relationship between fashion and Hollywood began in earnest with Audrey Hepburn and Hubert de Givenchy, and has since grown into another facet of business. For many celebrities, fame comes with a fashion contract, or—if you’re lucky—house ambassadorship.
Over the years, some celebrities have become synonymous with the fashion brands that they are linked to: Emma Stone and Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière; Margaret Qualley and Virginie Viard’s Chanel; Kim Kardashian and Demna’s Balenciaga.
With this game of creative director musical chairs, we wondered what that meant for celebrity contracts—not to mention friendships. We had an early taste of this when Dakota Johnson remained a Gucci girl, rather than following her dear friend Alessandro Michele to Valentino.
There were certainly some holdovers with the new collections: Julianne Moore, a Bottega Veneta muse under Matthieu Blazy, stayed loyal to the house, debuting Louise Trotter’s first look at the Cannes Film Festival, and even starring in her first teaser campaign. Jennifer Lawrence and Anya Taylor-Joy, two longstanding Dior acolytes, supported Jonathan Anderson at his first womenswear show.
Still, there was some notable movement during the season. Nicole Kidman, a former Balenciaga ambassador, did not stay for Pierpaolo Piccioli’s tenure, nor did she follow Demna to Gucci—instead, she was named one of Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel ambassadors, alongside Ayo Edebiri. Meanwhile, Greta Lee, a one-time Loewe ambassador, chose to follow Jonathan Anderson to Dior.
