The dawn of a new season is often synonymous with change, whether that’s personally, professionally, or in this case, sartorially. With spring—and its new fashion arrivals—on the horizon, now is the opportune time to transition the contents of your wardrobe into one that aligns with the bright sunshine, warmer temperatures, and all the outdoor activities that come with a season in bloom. We’re not the only ones with this fresh dressing outlook on the mind. Several of our go-to designers, such as The Row, Toteme, and Khaite, are switching up their signature silhouettes and giving with subtle twists—think shrunken blazers with a nipped-in waist; retro-inspired sneakers that look narrower than ever, and flared peplum tops fit for the modern woman, just to name a few.

Vogue’s Top Spring 2025 Silhouettes to Shop:

Spring and summer 2025’s new silhouettes will inspire you to look at your everyday lineup ever so differently. Just take Loewe’s and Carven’s elevated versions of white T-shirts, for example. Instead of featuring classic crewneck silhouettes, they feature softer, more whimsical necklines and flattering asymmetrical hemlines. Speaking of exaggerated essentials, flared dresses and skirts also make their debut. There’s Jacquemus’s pleated LWD from Simon Porte’s La Croisière collection that feels especially swishy to H&M’s fabulous flared midiskirt that transitions from day-to-night seamlessly. As far as spring outerwear goes, consider a chin-grazing, funnel-neck jacket to complete your look. Mango, Gucci, and Citizens of Humanity have a number of khaki, trench-like styles that fit the bill, while Magda Butrym and Zara put forward theirs in leather. Now don’t get us wrong, all of spring and summer 2025’s new silhouettes are relatively easy to inject into your daily dressing routine. However, there are a few throwback trends that might require a bit more convincing—like slim-fit trousers, peplum tops, and ultra-cropped jackets for a midriff-baring-moment. Accessory-wise, we’re looking to clean-lined, narrow sneakers, soft-toe loafers, and east-west handbags.

Below, a complete look at the new silhouettes to know for spring and summer 2025, and where to shop them right now.

Blazers Get Shrunken, Buttons Go Higher

Last season’s ladylike jackets just got cooler, with nipped waists and new button placements. Kallmeyer’s sumptuous suede style or Rag Bone mandarin collar choice are at the top of our list, while Aligne’s signature Daphne blazer in mellow yellow creates an elongating effect when teamed up with jeans or fluid trousers. Bit fit isn’t the only fresh thing about these blazers. They also feature a row of buttons much closer to the neckline than traditional single or double-button iterations.

The Narrow Retro Sneaker Stays in Style

The retro sneaker is sticking around for yet another season, but for spring, the trendy trainer features a slightly narrower silhouette than previous takes. Masterfully minimal designs reigned supreme at Toteme and Prada, while Dries Van Noten chose to play with print–python, specifically. Adidas is also known to lean into the season’s top sneaker trends. Its notably neutral Tokyo style is a particular favorite among the Vogue Shopping team. Otherwise, look to those from Nike and J.Crew for affordable-but-still-fashionable finds.

Loafers Go Soft

It’s true, loafers were spotted everywhere across the spring 2025 collections. But instead of the structured penny picks of yore, scrunched-up soft-toe loafers from Prada to Saint Laurent stole the show. The latter, in particular, added an element of texture to several of the whimsical looks they were styled with. Classic black pairs from Prada, Miu Miu, and Dear Frances will go with anything and everything this spring, while Banana Republic’s burgundy beauties or Flattered’s off-white option offer up a welcome color pop in a wardrobe dominated by neutrals.

Peplum Is Back–But Not as You Know It

The early aughts are calling, and this time, we’re here for it! Peplum, which was once purely associated with cringy 2000s-era style, is making a comeback for 2025. Yes, some of the industry’s biggest labels are standing behind the divisive silhouette, from Khaite and Alaïa to Jil Sander and Magda Butrym. It’s also important to mention that the flared-out hemline is already making its mark on the street style scene, spotted not only at Paris Couture Week, but also NYFW. Play with peplum this spring with the below styles.

Slim Pants: In, Baggy Pants: Out

Skinny pants and jeans are slowly, but surely inching their way back onto the sartorial scene. Need more convincing? Designers, from Proenza Schouler to Tory Burch, put some version of the tailored, slim-fitting trouser front-and-center in their spring 2025 collections. Styling-wise, don’t be scared! Sport yours with a polished kitten-heel pump or one of the aforementioned shrunken blazers for some welcome outfit elevation. Skinnies can actually be especially flattering and elongating, regardless of what you might have heard.

Spring Jackets: Buttoned to the Top

Funnel-neck outerwear first made its mark on the fashion crowd last fall, in large part thanks to Chemena Kamali at Chloé for making it the look a signature of her boho-forward brand. For spring 2025, the outerwear option feels ultra relevant, with all eyes on cropped jackets with high throat latches. Go the classic route in khaki choices from Mango, Gucci, and Citizens of Humanity. Or, inject some edge into your everyday wardrobe with leather luxuries from Magda Butrym and Zara.

Skirts and Dresses Get Exaggerated

With each new season, you can always expect a new skirt or dress trend to take over the sartorial zeitgeist. If last fall was defined by clean-lined silhouettes and masterfully minimalist designs, consider spring 2025 the opposite. Fanned-out, flared hemlines are starring centerstage, offering up a fun play on proportions you may not be familiar with. First off, there’s Jacquemus’s pleated LWD that will feel especially fresh in a warm-weather capsule wardrobe, or H&M’s fabulous flared midiskirt that transitions day-to-night seamlessly. Just add a heeled barely-there sandal and elegant evening clutch. Other flared finds to consider include Khaite’s woven tank dress, Loewe’s workwear-inspired khaki skirt, or Polo Ralph Lauren’s striped shirt dress.

Necklines Get Softer

The whimsical, draped top’s influence on fashion is carrying over from last season, injecting its romance and softness not only onto billowy blouses, but dresses and even plain white tees. When it comes to the latter, we’re especially drawn to those from Carven and Loewe. Both of which look as chic styled down with a casual blue jean as they do with an elegant trouser and heels. Meanwhile, artful dresses from Toteme, Massimo Dutti, and Proenza Schouler are almost too easy to wear–and for any occasion, for that matter, from spring weddings to your nine-to-five.

East-West Bags Still Point the Way

Last season, Alaïa’s structural east-west “Le Teckel” tote put the trendy east-west bag on the fashion map–and in a serious way. We even reported that it was one of 2024’s top-shopped handbags. Several designers have followed suit for spring, bringing their own vision to the shape. Of course, the high-street also has its takes, such as Freja’s stunning ivory option or Staud’s sumptuous suede style. Take your pick, below.

Skirt Hems Go Asymmetrical

Move over figure-hugging, column skirts, there’s a new silhouette in town that’s taking both the runway and street style scene by storm! For spring 2025, it’s all about the asymmetrical midiskirt. From Tory Burch and JW Anderson to Massimo Dutti and Rosie Assoulin, any of these statement styles will inject a sense of playfulness into your everyday lineup–just add a lightweight transitional jacket, stylish sneaker, and slouchy tote for a final look that’s easy as it is attention-grabbing.

Crop It Off

For spring 2025, consider your go-to pieces cropped. From the classic trench coat at Toteme, to Zimmermann’s striped polo sweater, and even Khaite’s two-toned boxy blazer, designers are playing with proportions more than ever, reimagining the classics we know and love into shorter and shorter styles. Just in time for spring and summer’s warmer temperatures, one thing is for sure: We’re predicting a lot more midriff-baring moments.

Bags Lean Into Their Slouch

In stark contrast to the bowling, doctor kit-inspired bag that dominated the fall 2024 runways, slouchier styles fit for everyday ease and elegance are in for spring. Bottega Veneta’s Ciao Ciao bag in a rich burgundy color is new on the scene and seemingly, one above the rest. Meanwhile, raffia and woven totes from Massimo Dutti and Banana Republic feel especially appropriate for warmer temperatures much anticipated arrival. Supple in shape and oh-so easy to carry, stock up on these statement styles now before they’re bound to sell out.
