Beyoncé’s Fans Understood the Assignment for the Renaissance Tour

Beyoncé’s fans do not take an assignment from Queen Bey lightly. Whether it was pausing during the mute challenge in “Energy,” or even taking the line, “I just quit my job” from “Break My Soul” literally, the Bey Hive is always ready to take directive. So when Beyoncé instructed the Renaissance World Tour attendees to wear metallics (specifically silver) for the concert dates during Virgo season, her fans didn’t disappoint.

Los Angeles proved to be a particular fashion standout on the tour. At Bey’s three star-studded shows—including her September 4 birthday blowout—at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium, fans turned out some of the most impressive looks yet.

“During my pregnancy I played a lot of her music,” one mother, who was attending the concert with her daughter, told Vogue. “This is really a dream for us.” The fashionable duo clearly got Bey’s memo, opting for shimmering concert-wear that incorporated rhinestones, fringe, and feathers. The daughter even paid homage to the silver disco theme with a pair of Wales Bonner Adidas Sambas.

“It’s kinda out of my element but that’s the fun of it,” said one fan in a green metallic fringe top, matching sheer emerald headscarf, jewel-encrusted cowboy hat, and bedazzled sunglasses. While stepping outside of one’s fashion comfort zone can be nerve-wracking, the attendee noted that the supportive fanbase is conducive to a creative environment. “When you’re part of the Hive it’s a group, it’s a team, it’s unity. That unity allows people to support each other and be creative.”

Others took inspiration from Beyoncé’s past tour looks. One fan referenced her striped Jean Paul Gaultier illusion bodysuit that she wore in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and a pair of chrome wraparound shades similar to the ones the singer wore on her Hamburg stop.

Check out the fashionable Renaissance attendees who decked themselves out in diamonds and pearls, and—of course—lots of metallics in Vogue’s latest video, Streets of Inglewood.
