As Swift got onstage to accept her Grammy for best pop vocal album for Midnights (her 13th!), she let the audience in on a secret: “My brand-new album comes out April 19th. Swift, who wowed the crowd on the Grammys red carpet in arguably Reputations-coded Schiaparelli, is no stranger to the surprise album drop. She offered up news of her tenth studio album, Midnights, in the same fashion—at the 2022 MTV VMAs, when she accept the award for video of the year—although letting your fans know you’re coming out with new work mid-Grammys speech is certainly a whole new level of big reveal that only Swift (or Beyoncé, TBH) could pull off. Is it April yet?
