The world is divided between those who love putting together a holiday feast for twelve and those who pretty much only use their ovens as an extra place for storage. Here, we recommend five of our favorite restaurants offering special menus this Thanksgiving.
Those who never miss the opportunity to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade should head for brunch to Bouchon Bakery
Café, a spot located on the third floor of the Time Warner Center. Stay warm indoors and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the event while feasting on one of the French bakery’s signature croissants.

For their special Thanksgiving prix fixe menu, this downtown restaurant is offering a serious turkey feast. There’s Caraway Bread with Turkey Butter to start, and then an onslaught of Turkey Sausage with Sweet Potato and Mustard, Fried Turkey with Cranberry Slaw, and Turkey Wellington for the main course. Thankfully, at least the dessert, a Pumpkin Caramel Pecan Candy Bar, is bird-free.

Those yearning for some comfort food should make their way to Root
Bone, a Southern restaurant that opened in June in the East Village. Its special Thanksgiving menu includes indulgent treats such as Grandma Daisy’s Angel Biscuits, Fried Turkey Breast, and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie. The owners also have enough Southern hospitality that they’ve taken the meat-adverse into consideration, too: There’s a vegetarian Thanksgiving plate available.
