We’re still finding inspiration from all the street style looks at Vogue World: London. (Not to mention the amazing pieces we saw on stage from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Carolina Herrera, Gucci, and more.) We noted that metallics and floral prints dominated the street style scene, but so too did handbags. Unlike most red carpet moments, when showgoers go for micro-sized clutches or minaudieres, this fashion event saw a melange of different bags and bag shapes. The most memorable handbag moment of the night? Hands down delivered by icon and model Twiggy, who carried a Louis Vuitton Papillon bag in a wink to a photo she starred in, snapped by Bert Stern for Vogue’s October 1967 issue. Several red carpet watchers immediately clocked the reference, which was made all the more likable when they learned Twiggy had fully secondhand accessories sourced from eBay, who was a presenting sponsor of Vogue World: London. Her look also served to double down on the homage she recently paid in a recreation of her famous image with Vogue and eBay—over 50 years later, Twiggy still makes us want to sport that barrel-shaped bag.

Other attendees sported equally coveted bags, like Jacquemus’s micro-sized ‘Le Chiquito’ Clutch, Fendi’s baguette bag, and Bottega Veneta’s woven pouches. All of these bags are styles you can also shop secondhand à la Twiggy. Browse some of our favorite, street style looks from Vogue World: London below.
