As Vogue editors, we often wax poetic on the latest runway must-haves and home decor treasures, but not every item we gush about on this website ultimately ends up in our closets and homes. Our discoveries are nice to behold—they’re lovely to look at and inspire fun conversation—however, of all the tempting things to buy, what did we actually end up purchasing in 2022? This month we’re highlight all of those special finds our editors welcomed into their lives—all the things that made us buyers rejoice.

Influenced by my coworkers, I finally gave Gap turtlenecks a try, and I’ve been wearing them non-stop since purchasing them. I also can’t forget to mention my most complimented purchase of the year: the gorgeous Gia Borghini x RHW boots. You will not regret investing in a pair.

I bought my vey first pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes to wear to my first Met Gala this year. I opted for flats for the extra comfort level, but they are so special to me and I will always think about my time at Vogue and The Met when I slip this pair on for an upcoming holiday soirée, wedding, and more!

No surprise that my favorite purchase of 2022 is a bag! The mini puzzle bag from Loewe is a bag I have been coveting for years but couldn t quite bring myself to buy up until recently when I decided to buy myself a Christmas present!

My favorite buys this year may be pocket-sized, but they are items I use literally every single day—which, to me, makes the best purchase. My AirPods are a lifesaver while commuting and plugging into a Zoom while I’m in the office, and the lanyard hole ensures I don’t lose them! And, of course, this Stone and Strand necklace has become a daily accessory for me; I’ve been into mixing metals and layering really subtle, dainty jewelry, and this necklace fits effortlessly into the look.

I’ve dreamt about The Row Gala pants for months, so when I saw a brand new pair on The RealReal I couldn’t check out fast enough. They are the chicest, most versatile (and most comfortable) pair of pants I’ve ever owned. Even though I got mine on discount, I promise they are worth the investment. In fact, I might have to buy a second pair!

I splurged on this Totême quilted velvet coat because I needed dressier outerwear for a black-tie wedding. Boy, am I glad I did—it’s become a wardrobe staple in my closet, serving as not only my go-to coat for any formal event but any occasion where I want to elevate my outfit a bit. I last wore it to a Christmas brunch with my friends over black jeans and a chunky sweater.
Oh, did I mention it has pockets?

My Tibi denim maxi skirt was the MVP of my wardrobe this year. Paired with a fitted white tee for day or a sexy bralette and blazer at night, I’m still not tired of sporting this number 24/7.

My favorite purchase of the year has to be this pair of classic loafers from Prada. They also happen to be my most-worn shoe of 2022. Flat, easy to break in, go with everything—simply perfection!

I randomly picked up these Zara trousers earlier this year, and I’ve been wearing them on repeat. The high waist and wide leg make them perfect to pair with heels! Next, how cute is this handbag from Mango? It goes with everything and is surprisingly spacious.

The best thing I bought this year, and maybe even in the last three to five years, was Commission’s Rider Shirt. I didn’t expect its oversized silhouette to change the way I dress, but it did, now almost everything I buy is compared to the shirt—can I wear it with the shirt? will it make me feel as good as I feel when I wear the shirt? In my sartorial life, there is now a marked divide: before the Commission shirt, and after, which is the future.

I purchased this initial necklace earlier in the year, and it is hands-down one of my very favorite purchases to date. I have received many compliments on it and have been texted pictures of friends who’ve gone on to buy it for themselves. It is the perfect dainty addition to any outfit—from dressing up to casual errands. Not only does Bracha give back to non-profit organizations with every sale, but it’s also a Latinx women-owned and founded brand—as a Latina myself, I love it even more!

My best purchase of 2022 was my By Far bag, which was a purchase inspired by my old colleague Emily Farra! It fits my wallet, keys, lip gloss, gum, and hand sanitizer and is the best bag to just take with me everywhere. I bring it grocery shopping, to grab drinks with friends, and even to go do my laundry (it fits my bag of quarters)! It’s like a chicer fanny pack and you can always find a good deal for the bag, especially over the holidays.

There’s a soft spot in my heart for the comically large and beautifully colorful plaid Acne scarves, but I don’t love to feel like I’m shopping a trend (that’s just me, though; you do your thing). But why deny myself a quality, beautiful scarf? My happy medium was to shop the trend-adjacent scarves from Acne that are thinner with a less recognizable pattern. And I’ve never been warmer!

Within the halls of Vogue, Chopova Lowena skirts and necklaces might seem tried and true, but in the outside world, I can feel heads turn—confused or enthralled by my industrial yet whimsical split green and blue carabiner miniskirt. It’s a statement piece, to say the least. But that doesn’t stop me from overdosing on pattern clashing by pairing it with a printed top and knee-high boots. This wild piece has range! It can even be worn more formally with a black turtleneck sweater and tights with loafers to any holiday party.

I found this tote at the beginning of 2022, and it’s the gift that keeps on giving. I was starting a new job, so I was on the hunt for a new work bag. Not only has this tote served that purpose but it also doubles as a pouch when folded, which is perfect for any post-work activities. I’m also slightly embarrassed to admit how many things I’ve been able to stuff in there for weekend trips when I only want to bring one bag.
Another favorite purchase of the year was a vintage leather bomber jacket that I found in the basement of a store in Brick Lane while on a trip to London. The leather is in perfect condition, and it’s the only outerwear I’ve been grabbing for as of late.

I think I was pretty late to the shoulder bag game—I’m much more of a crossbody girl—but this year I have finally embraced the idea. This faux-snakeskin bag by Mademe really helped break the seal for me this year. And totally got my bang for my buck on it. Who knew you could actually find an it bag for under $200! I like that the hardware has a toughness too it, it’s not too ladylike at all but has that early aughts vibe to it.

To be honest, I’ve made plenty of worthwhile purchases this year—some of which were for my first-ever NYC apartment—but these clothing items took the cake as my favorite. My friends have been raving about Aritzia for the longest time, so I was easily persuaded to invest in some of their well-known essentials. I got myself the uber-popular contour bodysuit back in the summer, and I found myself wearing it whenever I had a chance; it’s incredibly flattering and goes with just about everything. And, more recently, I caved and got a pair of Levi’s as an early birthday present for myself. Both are definitely going to be worn all the time in the new year (and I might have to buy some more eventually).
