The ultimate delight at Vogue World: London, already a night of star-studded interactions and larger-than-life celebrity looks, took place when singer Annie Lennox took the stage and performed a surprise rendition of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” for an awed all-star crowd.
Lennox’s silvery, bedazzled onstage ensemble was made for her courtesy of Richard Quinn, the young British designer who counts none other than Princess Beatrice, Priyanka Chopra, and Rina Sawayama as fans, and she couldn’t have chosen an outfit more worthy of the occasion. As she launched into the chorus of the Eurythmics’ hit, you could practically feel the audience succumbing to extremely welcome ’80s nostalgia.
As if the song choice weren’t enough of a perfect throwback, a set of supermodels who you may just recognize from the September cover of Vogue (and many others between them) came out, all in silver, to support Lennox onstage. A iconic finale for an iconic evening.
