Anna Wintour and Vogue100 Host a Festive Breakfast with MatchesFashion
After the riotous cocktail party the night before, Vogue and MatchesFashion hosted an intimate breakfast for Vogue100 members. As the morning light stretched over SoHo, New York’s stylish set strolled into the Roll Hill, festively decorated for the occasion. A fleet of waiters stood by the door to offer Champagne and fresh juices. Guests looked through the goodies hand-selected by Vogue editors for the two-day pop-up shop.
“After so much time spent apart,” Anna Wintour addressed the room. “It’s so wonderful to be back together again in celebration of the season .”
After breakfast, attendees climbed the stairs to where Chloe Malle, a long-time editor, waited beside a beautifully set table. There, Malle revealed her favorite holiday entertaining tips. With Lilah Ramzi, Vogue’s commerce and party editor, serving as moderator, a lively discussion ensued about the dos and don’ts of hosting. The well-dressed pair laughed about how to handle awkward situations (lingering guests) and the best ways to ensure a comfortable experience (throws on the back of all chairs when alfresco). In regards to forgetting the names of fellow guests, Chloe recalled the elegant solution to Graydon Carter debuted at Vanity Fair’s famed Oscar party: double-sided place cards.
Both Malle and Ramzi offered ways to keep the conversation fresh.
“At a wedding, I recently attended,” Ramzi mused, “each table was told it had something in common, and by the end of the night, we had to discover what it was. It was a fantastic way to engage people in conversations they otherwise might never have.”
With bags full of beautiful gifts and minds full of inspiration, guests left the shop ready to embrace a holiday season full of community and creativity.
