Fabiola Beracasa and Jason Beckman's Wedding

Moments before walking down the aisle, I had butterflies, from nerves and excitement. Thankfully, I had my father by my side and my youngest sister, Olympia, holding my train. My sister realized that the dress was too much for her alone, so we asked two lovely local ladies in traditional costumes to help her carry it. Florist and friend Thierry Boutemy and I worked together on the flowers throughout the wedding-planning process. For my bouquet, I trusted him implicitly. Shortly before the ceremony, he surprised me with this arrangement, and it could not have been more perfect. Our ceremony was early Friday afternoon, held at Sponza Palace in Dubrovnik's old city. My vision was for it to be as fragrant as it was beautiful. Theirry and his team filled the arches with dripping jasmine, peonies, and tuberose, and it was an actual dream come true. Rabbi Kotel Da-Don did a wonderful job of officiating the marriage. Our first walk as a married couple! I thought Jason looked so handsome in his gray tails. He enlisted the help of Savile Row tailor Henry Poole & Co. to ensure a perfect fit. Just outside the ceremony we were joined by traditional Croatian dancers. Jason and I have a great affinity for the local culture and people, so for our wedding weekend, we wanted to share with our guests the beautiful heritage Croatia has to offer. Collaborating with Riccardo Tisci on my wedding gown was a fun, emotional, and very fulfilling creative project. I knew that with Riccardo's genius the final product would be timeless and perfect. It was important to me that the dress be modest, traditional, yet totally modern. Riccardo achieved this by creating a gloved mesh bodysuit with embroidered lace to complement the lace on the dress and veil. Having our son Julien with us was a true highlight of our wedding. The talented Happy Menocal created the artwork for our menu cards and place cards as well as our invitations, often incorporating a bee motif as both our family names start with the letter B. We were thrilled when our dear friend Carlos Mota compiled his collection and sent us this photo. One of the tables at our wedding luncheon. We chose green hues and summer vegetables to give it an intimate feeling. There are few people I love and respect more than Riccardo. I couldn't ever have imagined creating a wedding gown without him. It was such an honor and pleasure to see him throughout our wedding weekend. My friends and beauty experts Tarek Makki and Dominique Samuel kept my hair and makeup looking simple and fresh all day long. The minute Rita Watnick of Lily et Cie showed me this dress it was love at first sight. It is a 1987 Patou by Christian Lacroix hand-painted gown, and the embodiment of what I wanted for Friday night's Baroque-themed dinner. As I arrived at the Marin Držić Theatre, I felt it was made for the occasion. Friday night's Baroque-themed dinner was a beautiful melange of candlelit pinks and reds (one of my favorite color combinations), which made the evening magical and romantic. In keeping with Friday night's Baroque theme, I found this special 1991 Gianni Versace Couture dress on 1stdibs. I knew I couldn't dance in the hand-painted Lacroix gown I wore to dinner, so I quickly changed into this mini before Snoop Dogg surprised our guests with a performance after dinner. Snoop Dogg and Jessica Hart turning up the heat! Jason and I grew up listening to Snoop Dogg. In recent years we have had the good fortune of knowing him, and supporting the Snoop Youth Football League for underprivileged children. When we asked him if he would perform at Friday night's party, he came and brought the house down! Months before, my dear friend Coco Brandolini d'Adda accompanied me to their showroom in Milan, where I instantly knew this gold-and-silver masterpiece was for me. Our trusted wedding planner Marcy Blum and her talented team even managed to make a dinner party in an eleventh-century fortress feel effortless and seamless. Saturday night's dinner table was inspired by seventeenth-century Old Master still life paintings: The dripping candelabras were once on the set of Luchino Visconti’s The Leopard. We had colorful bee-pattern espadrilles made for tired feet. We danced the night away. Wyclef Jean was Saturday evening's surprise performer. My husband, Jason, is friends with him, and we are both very supportive of his noble efforts in Haiti. Later that evening, DJ Mark Ronson kept the party going until dawn. That night, a fire show illuminated the night sky above Fort Lovrijenac.
