Kim Kardashian was in the Magic City last night to celebrate the launch of Skims Swim with a double-header event: The opening of a Skims pop-up in the Miami Design District and an intimate evening get-together at the restaurant Swan.
At dinner, Kardashian–wearing a custom metallic silver Skims fit–toasted the star-studded table, where guests such as her sister Khloe Kardashian, Naomi Osaka and fellow tennis player Amanda Anisimova, Candice Swanepoel, Karolina Kurkova, and Madonna s daughter Lourdes Leon all sat.
"Khloe wanted me to say in this little speech that I m so grateful she s here," said Kardashian, laughing (Khloe, next to Kim and wearing cobalt-hued Mugler, nodded in approval.) The mogul continued: "Tonight is all about having fun, celebrating women, and being in Miami with good people."
Swan–the restaurant from Miami hospitality titan David Grutman and Pharrell Williams–is a popular celebrity hangout. The Skims dinner took place on its elevated landing, which looks out over a table-scaped garden (diners cheered when Kardashian waved hello). Hamachi Crudo, Caesar salad, and tiger prawns rounded out the light, summer-ready fare–a fitting menu, as Florida s hot-and-humid temperatures are back in force.
When asked to describe Skims Swim in three words, Kardashian said: "Comfortable, versatile and flattering." She added: "I wanted to take away the anxiety of buying and wearing swimwear by providing a wide range of solutions for all tastes. I wanted to make it as easy as possible to build your own look."
Earlier in the day, Skims Swim pop-up saw lines forming hours before its doors opened. The mirror-wrapped store is in place for a couple of days–but don t be surprised if everything is sold out by the weekend s end. Such is Kardashian s lasting power–everything she touches turns to gold (well, in this case, silver).
