Liv Perez Wore Elie Saab to Marry Alex Nachum in an Oasis of Wildflowers at Soho Farmhouse

Fashion journalist Liv Perez and real estate developer Alex Nachum met in New York City back in 2016, when he was getting his graduate degree at Columbia University and she was finishing her undergraduate degree at New York University. “Our families knew each other for a long time before, so we were like planets orbiting around each other, waiting for the right time to connect,” Liv explains. “We grew up minutes away from each other in LA, our moms went to the same workout class, and our sisters went to high school together.”
It wasn’t until their college years that they finally crossed paths, after two of their oldest friends introduced them. They didn’t start dating at first but instead became best friends. However, Liv admits, “we both knew I was absolutely in love with him.”
A few years later, they ended up at a wedding together and Alex finally confessed his love for Liv too. “Great love stories are written over time, and we were both finally ready to begin ours,” Liv says. “We have so much love for our years as friends, where we built a beautiful foundation for our years to come.”
The two got engaged at Dunton Hot Springs in November of 2022. “It’s secluded up in the Colorado mountains and a place where Alex and I often go to reset,” Liv says. “We both love to be in nature and check out for a bit. It’s definitely where we come together at our best. It’s a fundamental pillar of our relationship and a big reason why both Dunton and Soho Farmhouse ended up being the backdrop for some of the most special moments in our lives. He proposed over an intimate dinner on the property, and I immediately said yes.”
Their wedding was held on July 12 and 13 at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, UK. “It was actually the location of my first family trip with his family and the place where I knew I wanted to spend my life with him,” Liv explains. “Alex loves to say that every time we get in bed it feels like summer camp. He’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met, and we just tell stories and laugh all night. We wanted to find a place that exuded that same energy, where our friends and family could disconnect for the weekend and come together to celebrate. Weddings are so much about your tribe and community, and we wanted to celebrate them just as much as our love and give them an excuse to get away for the weekend.”
The planning kicked off last summer after Liv and Alex visited the property in August. “Neither of us wanted to rush the process, so we were engaged for a year and a half before getting married,” Liv explains. “This allowed us to take our time and do the wedding the way we always envisioned it.” As a visual person, Liv began planning the weekend with mood boards to get the right feel. “Getting married at Soho Farmhouse is really the ultimate dream because there’s not much you have to do to it,” she adds. “It’s absolutely perfect on its own.”
To that end, the couple worked closely with Hannah Quartly at Soho Farmhouse, catching up for weekly brainstorms to decide on all the unique touches they wanted to bring. “We loved working directly with the venue, especially because so many of our elements were from the farm itself,” Liv says. “Our chuppah was made on property, all of our florals were from gardens around the farm, and the chefs on-site made our wedding cake. It was the most ideal experience to be so close to every detail and an absolute dream to see it come to life.”
For the welcome dinner, horses and a swan who had just had babies on the property roamed the field behind as friends and family gave speeches. “We added our own touches, like mini Don Julio 1942 bottles as seating cards and a tented reception with disco balls and an incredible band that had our guests dancing all night long,” Liv says. “But our biggest goal was to complement the existing beauty of the property.”
Liv and Alex worked with stylist Thomas Christos Kikis to help bring their wedding-wardrobe dreams to life. “I always dreamt of bringing the brands that have been so integral to my career into the weekend to pay homage to them,” Liv says. “Chanel was one of the first brands I ever worked with, Alberta Ferretti is a brand my mom loves to collect and showed me as a young girl, and Elie Saab has been my dream dress designer since I was young.”
The bride wanted looks that felt timeless but were also specific to this special moment in her life. “I didn’t want to let the idea of being timeless stop me from wearing things that felt like me as I am now, in this moment,” Liv explains. “We definitely had a lot of fun, from a backless Jean-Louis Scherrer gown for my reception to a Rodarte sequined mini for the after-party. Fashion is my love language, and I loved being able to incorporate tokens of my gratitude to my loved ones into my wardrobe.” One of Kikis and Liv’s favorite looks was her welcome-dinner dress: an archival look from Alberta Ferretti that had never been worn. “I wore it for my mom, who first made me fall in love with fashion,” Liv says.
