To Celebrate Their Collaboration, Aerin and LoveShackFancy Threw a Valentine’s Day-Themed Party With Plenty of XOXOs

Valentine’s Day arrived early last night in the West Village at the just-opened American Bar, which was transformed into “Café de Cupid” to celebrate the collaboration of Aerin and LoveShackFancy—a collection of hair accessories and beauty products.

At the door, a sea of red and pink balloons and potted florals greeted guests, who eagerly shed their coats, often revealing a LoveShackFancy frock underneath.

“We are totally opposites in some aspects,” LoveShackFancy’s Rebecca Hessel Cohen explained. “I am wild and spontaneous while Aerin has such style and elegance, but we both love entertaining and bringing together generations of women and that made working together so fun!”

Inspired by a common love for travel, timelessness, and, of course, flowers, the duo created scrunchies and a headband in an organza printed with gardenias—ideal floral accessories to pair with a girly LoveShackFancy look.

For beauty, Cohen and Lauder collaborated on the Wild Geranium scent in both a hair mist and eau de perfume formula. “I grew up loving geraniums,” Lauder said, smiling. “My mom actually used to give them out as party favors for my birthdays.” Last but not least, the two launched a lip gloss in the most subtle shade of blush pink, one that adds an everlasting shine without overdoing it.

Guests including Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Tessa Hilton, Hilary Rhoda, Huma Abedin, Tabitha Simmons, Melissa Roxburgh, Lindsay Ellingson, Princess Olympia of Greece, Gucci Westman, Lauren Bush Lauren, Lili Buffet, Talita von Furstenberg, and Vogue’s Allie Michler, Willow Lindley, and Virginia Smith all enjoyed the playful event in celebration of two pioneer women.

The bar booths were draped in vintage chintz linens and covered in rose petals and offered the most picturesque place to enjoy some of the sweet treats that overflowed on a dessert bar. On the more savory side, there were pigs in a blanket, pommes frites, and arancini with Pointy Snout caviar, which paired perfectly with flowing glasses of bubbly. Behind the DJ booth, Pamela Tick played an upbeat soundtrack for the friends and family in attendance.

“It’s so fun to see all the generations,” Lauder said. “Especially my friends who brought their daughters along too!” With the many hugs and embraces shared throughout the night, it was as if love perfumed the air—or was that just the new fragrance?
