Jacqueline Burke and Restaurateur Luke Ostrom’s New York City Wedding

Our invitation set was printed on super-thick cotton weave stock with touches of gold foil. My beautiful Alon Livné Elizabeth dress. I’d just unwrapped it, steamed it, and hung it up in my hotel suite at The NoMad Hotel where I got ready. My Cartier engagement ring was the only jewelry I wore on the wedding day other than my diamond solitaire studs that Luke gave me as a Valentine’s Day present. I didn’t want to wear a traditional veil, so instead I chose a custom floral hairpiece by Stone Fox Bride. Melisande Page was my amazing hairstylist. Right before guests started arriving and the ceremony kicked off, Luke’s brother and best man Jed Ostrom (left), Luke (center), and his childhood friend Sarosh Olpadwala (right) took a moment to hang together. This was taken right after I slipped my dress on in the NoMad suite. I was in total awe. Luke’s gorgeous suit from Michael Andrews Bespoke, which is an amazing custom shop on Great Jones Alley (a neighbor to his restaurant Lafayette). He also wore a navy tie, a mixed pattern pocket square, brown leather Gucci lace-up shoes, a vintage tie bar, silver cufflinks, and a Mougin & Piquard watch to round out the whole outfit. Our guests began to arrive at 632 Hudson around 5:45 p.m. Everyone gathered outside the townhouse. We wanted to get all the photos out of the way beforehand, and it turned out to be a gorgeous day so we walked down Horatio Street to get some shots there. I was so nervous about getting my dress dirty—I wouldn’t let it go. Once inside, everyone explored the main atrium and mingled while they waited for the ceremony to start. Flutes of champagne and warm gougères were passed. Our florist, Raquel Corvino, created a stunning backdrop for the ceremony in front of the fireplace. Here I am coming down the staircase to meet Luke during the ceremony. Cody Geil, the amazing front woman of Bon Musique, was singing Phil Phillips and George Khoury’s “Sea of Love.” It was difficult not to reach out and hug everyone as I passed by them. Our officiant, Jeddah Vailakis (center), had us take a moment during the ceremony to look up all around us and see everyone circling above. It was so incredibly powerful to see. Everyone stood and peered down on us over the banister of the two-story atrium; sometimes they’d wave if one of us happened to lock eyes. That kiss! Mercy. Chef Jason Hua of The Dutch and his team of handpicked chefs from all of Luke’s restaurants to create an epic market table in the open kitchen of 632 Hudson. Luke and I couldn’t stop admiring the spread of hors d’oeuvres, so we posed for pics behind it! At around 8 p.m., the chefs brought out a whole slow-roasted pig and set up a taco bar. Luke couldn’t help himself from doing some quality control on the food. One of the many different custom cakes by Lafayette’s pastry chef, Jennifer Yee, served on the dessert table. We brought a blackjack table and dealer in for the salon where there was also a Deco bar with a watermelon cocktail fountain and a fish tank set into the wall. It was a huge hit. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake we went with a full-on Marie Antoinette–style dessert spread by Lafayette’s pastry chef, Jennifer Yee. It included a croquembouche, macaron towers, tartlets, éclairs, verrines, and fruits. When this spread was revealed, the show was complete.
