Michelle Campbell Mason and Zach Vella’s Ireland Wedding at Ashford Castle

I study Medieval and Renaissance history, so finding a place with ruins and a beautiful story was important to us. Ashford Castle was first on our list to visit, and after we saw it, we knew immediately it was where we wanted to host everyone. This is a view of the front of the castle, which was built on a monastic site in 1228 and was owned by the Guinness family in the 1800s. Our wedding day was the most perfect day, with perfect weather—unusual for Ireland.

One of our welcome gifts to all of our guests was a custom candle from Rachel Vosper in Belgravia, wrapped in a box with our wedding monogram.

I designed and made these special trillion diamond earrings and a necklace that went down my back.

I love the simplicity of my custom Maiyet gown and the surprise of the low-draped back. Maiyet cofounder and very close friend Kristy Caylor and I collaborated for months. We were steaming until the very last second before running into the woods for the ceremony.

My bridal bouquet. We wanted bohemian, loose flowers for all of the weekend’s events. A dear friend, who could not attend the wedding, sent an Irish good-luck charm for good measure. I wrapped it around the base of the bouquet.
