Natalie Bloomingdale and Ariana Rockefeller Hosted a Holiday Dinner to Celebrate Their Latest Collaboration

Continuing the friendship their families started generations ago, Natalie Bloomingdale and Ariana Rockefeller have partnered on a holiday capsule collection, exclusively on The SIL, of shimmery dresses and tailored jackets. Together, they hosted a celebratory dinner at the San Vicente Bungalows that just happened to coincide with last week’s lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center.

Friends, family, and colleagues—media personality Joe Zee, equestrian Hannah Selleck, actor Blair Bomar—gathered in the private room of the tucked-away members club, its cozy toile-patterned walls and sloped roof the perfect setting for the rainy day in Los Angeles. Guests dined on salmon or steak and endless amounts of Champagne before a surprise serenade from holiday carolers who sang a medley of traditional tunes. “With this also being the same night as the tree lighting in Rockefeller Center, we wanted to bring a bit of the holiday spirit here as well,” said Rockefeller.

“My husband’s late grandmother, Betsy, introduced me to Ariana when she was living in Los Angeles for a time about eight years ago, and we became instant friends,” said the Texas-born, Los Angeles–based Bloomingdale. “Our first outing was at the Tower Bar, and with their original maître d’hôtel, Dimitri, being here at [Sunset Tower owner] Jeff Klein’s new property, it felt full circle.”

Bloomingdale created The SIL (The Stuff I Love) in 2017 as an e-commerce platform for some of her favorite under-the-radar brands, such as the Dallas-based Tish Cox, who did not have an online presence. The site has since grown to be the first to produce collaborations with the Beverly Hills Hotel and The Future Perfect, with her curated designer base—Keehn Deutch, Sue Sartor, La Vie Style House, and more—crafting exclusive pieces inspired by the beloved venues.

Limited production and a loyal fanbase made each collaboration an instant success, and for the holidays, Bloomingdale decided to try another kind of collaboration, this time with her fashion-designer friend. The pieces are all best sellers from Rockefeller’s archives, updated in festive fabrics with shimmer and sheen to float effortlessly through the holiday season. Bloomingdale wore the thigh-skimming black metallic Stephanie jacket, layering it over black pants and a white shirt, while Rockefeller wore the Ellie dress in navy brocade, the elbow-length bell sleeves and textured fabric providing instant elegance.

“Natalie and I both love to travel together, and these are the kinds of pieces you can take with you everywhere—whether you’re packing them in your workbag for a post-work holiday party or your suitcase for New Year’s Eve in Aspen,” said Rockefeller.

After sharing the collection and thanking everyone for coming, guests couldn’t wait to open their party favors. The surprise inside the white boxes wrapped in green satin ribbon? A custom holiday glass ornament hand-painted with the tree at Rockefeller Center.
