The Fashion Community Came Out in Droves to Celebrate Rickie De Sole at Nordstrom

Perched on the second floor of Nordstrom’s New York flagship store sits Wolf, a modern restaurant known for its elegant yet relaxed approach to dining. Typically, it’s filled with gourmands enjoying the views of Midtown Manhattan, but on Thursday evening, the dining chairs and tables were removed to welcome the fashion set for a cocktail reception. The occasion: a heartfelt welcome to Rickie De Sole, the retailer’s new Women’s Designer Fashion Editorial Director.
As guests arrived, they were greeted by the scent of fresh-cut flowers, courtesy of a glorious archway filled with roses that served as the perfect frame for photos. The 32 seats at the bar were removed for guests to easily walk up and request drinks, while the counter near the open kitchen was filled with a glorious display of desserts.
During the entire night, the host of honor was showered with cheerful hugs from fashion friends—like Joseph Altuzarra and Wes Gordon. Stefano Tonchi and De Sole shared laughs together while Ezra J. William and Tina Leung sandwiched the lady of the hour with a heartfelt embrace.
“I think that the spirit of the industry’s community really came out last night—that’s what makes me love my job so much,” De Sole tells Vogue.
