10 of the Princess of Wales’s Best Tiara Moments to Date

When the now Princess of Wales married Prince William at Westminster Abbey back in 2011, she wore her first ever tiara: specifically, Queen Elizabeth II’s Cartier Halo diadem—a delicate piece that had been commissioned by King George VI back in 1936.
Since then, we’ve seen Kate wearing tiaras at a number of state receptions over the years, with the Lover’s Knot tiara—which was commissioned for Queen Mary from Garrard in 1913 and was worn by both Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana—being a particular favorite. The Lotus Flower tiara, which was first worn by the royal back in 2013, is another go-to piece that was a favorite of Princess Margaret.
While there were no tiaras at King Charles III’s coronation in May (instead, Kate wore a sculptural flower crown by Jess Collett for Alexander McQueen), there was a surprise tiara moment for the royal at the recent wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Saif in Amman, Jordan, when she again turned to the Lover’s Knot diadem.
