Talita von Furstenberg Launched Her Latest Collection With a SoHo Luncheon

All eyes were on 20-year-old Talita von Furstenberg at her La Mercerie luncheon yesterday afternoon. This season TVF decided to launch her sophomore capsule collection under her grandmother’s famous label, DVF, in the city she now calls home—she recently transferred from Georgetown University to NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study in pursuit of a fashion business degree.

Welcoming her guests—which included Molly Gordon, Olivia Palermo, Derek Blasberg, Olympia of Greece, Martha Hunt, Ellie Thumann, Jacquelyn Jablonski, and Elisa Johnson—to the beautifully decorated dining room, TVF explained her intention for the afternoon affair. “The theme of the day is community,” she beamed. “I really wanted to bring together my friends, family, and TVF women to sit down and have real conversations.”

And on a gale-force windy afternoon, it was an ideal setting to catch up with a friend or meet a new tablemate; attendees cozied up in the plush banquets, each adorned with personalized place settings, colorful crudités, flickering candles, and lots of flowers.

To further complement the secret garden-like atmosphere, all of the guests were dressed in TVF’s nature-inspired looks, many sporting her newest and cold weather-ready knits. Additionally, details from the collection, which was inspired by antique biology textbooks, were carefully placed around the room. Guests lounged on pillows printed with TVF’s new jellyfish polka-dot pattern and the table’s floral-printed napkins were all Fall 2019 prints.

The tête-à-têtes quieted for a moment when lunchers were presented with the main course: slices of tender roast chicken and fresh green beans. Throughout the meal TVF worked her way around the room, making sure each guest felt a part of her confident and growing community. TVF’s hostessing will continue over the weekend too. Starting tomorrow at DVF’s downtown boutique, shoppers can find her on hand and at the ready for a styling consultation with the TVF collection.
