Inside Taylor Hill’s Western-Inspired Wedding Set Amid the Colorado Rockies

On Saturday, June 10, model Taylor Hill married private equity investor Daniel Fryer at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Colorado.
The two first met at JazzFest in Aspen in 2019, which they were both attending with mutual friends, and immediately hit it off. They started dating shortly thereafter, and Daniel ultimately proposed at Hotel Il San Pietro di Positano in June of 2021, before settling on a wedding date of summer 2023. “We had a lot of time to plan so it was not stressful,” Taylor explains. “Family also played a big part in helping out—it was an all-hands-on-deck situation.”
The couple worked with Hannah Peterson of Table 6 Productions to plan their wedding weekend, which began on Friday evening with a welcome party on the ranch at Broad Axe Barn. The dress code called for a “Western chic vibe,” and the bride wore a custom crocheted House of Flora dress and Messika jewels. The groom dressed the part in Tecovas, a Stetson hat, and boots.
“This event was the perfect way to kick off our wedding weekend at Devil’s Thumb Ranch,” Taylor remembers. “As much as I travel for work—I have literally been [going] non-stop since the age of 14—Colorado has always been my constant, my rock, my home, and my heart. That is until I met Danny. Danny makes me feel home wherever we are. I wanted to share this once-in-a-lifetime moment with all our loved ones in my constant, favorite place: Winter Park, Colorado.”
The next day, the bride got ready with her bridesmaids at Yager House on the property. “It was an amazing open space with enough room for hair and makeup, dancing, lunch—and getting ready,” Taylor explains. “It was right at the top of the aisle where my dad walked me down…so perfect!”
The ceremony started at 4:30 p.m., right before the rain came through—which is common this time of year—and with the Colorado Rockies in the background. “I was honored to get to wear a custom Etro gown,” Taylor, who invited Vogue to her final dress fitting, says. “I have worked with Etro so much that they feel like family. Marco [de Vincenzo] is an amazing designer, and I love where he is taking the brand, creatively. When I asked them, they were so genuinely warm and excited.”
Taylor also shared that she couldn’t believe it was the first custom wedding gown the house has created. “That made it all the more magical, and we worked so closely together which meant the world to me,” she says. “Etro literally took everything that was in my brain and transformed it into reality. The gown is truly the dress of my dreams. It is elegant, but gives a nod to boho with its stunning material, movement, and beading.”
As for jewelry, there was no question in Taylor’s mind: She knew from the start of the styling process that she wanted to wear David Yurman. “I have a continued relationship with the family brand and their collection was the perfect compliment to my custom Etro dress,” she explains. Meanwhile, for glam, Danielle Priano was on hair and Carolina Gonzalez created the bride’s beauty look.
The groom, who was born in London, raised in Geneva, and attended boarding school at Eton College, sported the traditional British morning suit he wore as a student, tailored by New Lingwood. “There’s an old Eton tradition that says you’re supposed to wear the same tailcoat on your wedding day,” Taylor explains. The bridesmaids all wore custom Reformation gowns, while the man of honor was in a custom tuxedo from Suitsupply.
The bride’s grandfather Reverend Stanley Tate served as the officiant. “Before the ceremony, I was extremely nervous and also so excited at the same time,” Taylor recalls. “But once I walked out onto the aisle and saw Danny for the first time a sense of complete calm washed over me, and it was like nothing else mattered. He was all I could see, and it was such a special beautiful moment we got to share with all the people we love.”
