After almost a year of socially distanced living, we’ve all discovered that there are endless ways to dress comfortably. From cozy matching sets and classic sweats to knit onesies (well, knit everything), there is certainly no shortage of variety these days when it comes to homey clothing. And now, you can add cuddly sherpa fabric loungewear to the list. Sherpa is perhaps most recognizable in the form of a Teddy coat, which has proven to be one of the most highly coveted styles the past few seasons–the Teddy Bear Icon coat design which opened Max Mara’s Fall 2013 collection, for example, is almost always guaranteed to sell out. A more affordable iteration of the fashionably fuzzy coat was seen most recently on Selena Gomez earlier this week in New York. When facing chilly winter temperatures, the soft teddy bear texture is hard to resist, especially when it comes to those of us aiming for ultimate winter coziness in our wardrobes.
And even if you haven’t had many chances to cocoon yourself in one of these shaggy pieces of outerwear, you can still get the same warm and fuzzy feeling indoors by sinking your feet into fluffy house shoes made of the curly shearling, or by snuggling up to a number of teddy-fied separates, like an oversized cardigan, shacket, or henley. There’s also the option of sticking to basic loungewear staples covered in the beloved teddy coat material, like a sherpa crewneck, hoodie, pair of lounge pants, or joggers.
