All of the Wildest, Wackiest, Most Wonderful Shoe Moments from the 2025 Met Gala
Last night at the 2025 Met Gala, we saw no shortage of floor-skimming trousers, dramatic capes, and dresses with trains so long that they required an army of men to carry them (we’re looking at you, Diana Ross!). In many cases, it doesn’t seem like an event that s conducive to a stand-out shoe moment, but a good number of attendees opted to give their footwear a moment in the sun—and there was no shortage of freaky, wacky, sexy shoes.
While we’d already seen them pop up here and there, the 2025 Met Gala cemented the return of the towering platform stiletto. Hailey Bieber accessorized her Saint Laurent tuxedo jacket with a black patent leather peep-toe with a knife-point heel. Doja Cat, meanwhile, offered a fashion girl-approved interpretation in a pair of teetering Marc Jacobs Kiki boots, the straps buckling up to her ankles.
Pointy toes were also par for the course last night. Tessa Thompson opted for a platform pair to complete her geometric Prabal Gurung, while others took a different approach: Aimee Lou Wood adorned her slingbacks with red and white flowers, while Natasha Lyonne chose a pair of the pointiest pink lace-up boots to go with her McQueen dress.
The men also came prepared: Photographer Tyler Mitchell accessorized his cream-colored Wales Bonner suit with some matching furry footwear, Tramell Tillman embraced the male ballet flat, and Jaden Smith offered a sporty take on the loafer.
Myha’la also put a stylish spin on a recognizable shoe, wearing custom Luar Timberlands. Fashioned in a wheat moiré, the boots ditched the signature work boot vibe for a pointy-toed lace-up thigh-high moment.
Below, see all of the wildest, wackiest, most wonderful shoe moments from the 2025 Met Gala, from Natasha Lyonne’s extreme pointy toe to Chappell Roan’s hot pink boots and Imaan Hammam’s sparkling Maison Margiela Tabis.
