Valentino: Fall 2006 Ready-to-Wear

Today at Valentino, we re doing a strong red lip,

a little bit deeper than usual,

and were doing a deep black under the eye in a wing,

Mr. Valentino really wanted

the girls eyes to be in a wing.

So it s a little bit of a factory girl also,

because we have also prints from Basquiat.

So it s a little bit of a modern take

on a Valentino factory girl.

Valentino today is kind of

inspired by Warhol s factory girls,

so we have some girls that are short,

kind of like Edie Cedrick,

and then we have girls with longer, straighter hair,

kind of reminiscent of Penelope Tree in the late 60 s.

The presentation was Lionel Minoel Presentation

that he did in the Piazza Mianelli 20 years ago

and I want to redo it again because I thought was

the moment to give more excitement to the audience

to present these graphics for black and white,

I thought it was beautiful to send them all out

and to have the impression of what I want

to express myself with the black and white outfit

Valentino you know is always very beautiful,

very feminine, and this collection is very, very strong.

The Glamor and you know, the glitz

and white s not basquiat,

a beautiful nice homage to him.

Graphic was black and white pop art

with black with Basquiat,

I think the two things they went very well together.

The evening were more graphic besides the red,

and they wear only muslin

but everything was strapless, very, very clean

and all my femininity at the bottom of the dress.
