Good Spirits: Shop Vintner Michele Ouellet’s Effortless Napa Wardrobe

She may divide her time between both coasts, but model and vintner Michele Ouellet is a dyed-in-the-wool California girl, born and raised in Napa. “I sleep really well there,” she says of her life out West. Unlike in New York, where work tends to take priority, “my time spent in California is usually restorative,” she says. “I take walks every day in Venice with my boyfriend and his dog, [and] I always love to look up at the blue skies and palm trees, the bougainvillea, [the] greenery. It’s a version of paradise.”
Whether she’s down by the beach or working with her mother back in Napa, where the pair run the wine company Lorenza Rosé, Ouellet’s cozy bohemian wardrobe is rife with cashmere sweaters and T-shirts, frilly blouses, leather jackets, wide-cut denim, and colorful jewelry. Its breezy practicality suits her summery lifestyle, in which work and play are joyfully intertwined. “[The] harvest is my very favorite time of the year,” Ouellet says, referring to the late-summer picking of wine grapes in California. “It’s exhausting, but so rewarding . . . I love waking up early and getting down and dirty in the vineyards.” And when the work is done, the rewards are sweet: The enthusiastic hostess opts for “a sparkly Libertine silk slip and no shoes” for parties at home. (“Festive yet comfortable,” she explains.) And her best entertaining tip? “Hand a can of Lorenza Spritz to everyone the minute they walk in the door.”
