The sheer trend seems to have hit its peak. But, never one to be bothered by what’s supposedly in or out, Bella Hadid is keeping the diaphanous look afloat, even in its downward trajectory.
Today, the model was spotted in New York wearing a semi-transparent brown ME+EM top with a folded off-the-shoulder neckline, which she tucked into a pair of high-waisted blue jeans with ripped knees and a brown belt. Hadid kept the brown theme going with a pair of shiny, pointy-toe heels, and a distressed leather jacket (which she recently wore in Paris with a different brown shirt). She finished off her look with a pair of small black frameless sunglasses and a smattering of jewelry, including a statement bangle from Frasier Sterling.
Hadid is no stranger to sheer dressing. Last year, at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, we declared that she wore “the naked dress to end all naked dresses” in a nude Saint Laurent number fresh from the fall 2024 runway. And this past Paris Fashion Week, she walked the Saint Laurent runway in an ’80s-esque indigo lace dress before changing into a bodycon black see-through outfit.
While Bella Hadid has no shortage of sheer formalwear in her repertoire, today she showed how to make the trend work for everyday.
