Leave it to Mrs. Prada to draw a starry crowd for anything she puts her name on. Last night, friends of the Italian house—Hunter Schafer, Paloma Elsesser, and Tracee Ellis Ross among them—flocked to the new Prada menswear store in New York City.

Schafer offered her own interpretation of menswear for the store’s opening, mixing masculine and feminine pieces. In a piece from Prada’s men’s offering, she wore a white leather blousson jacket with sporty touches: a blue ribbed collar, waistband, and wrists; external zippers on the pockets; and contrast piping along the shoulders.

But the actor isn’t one to take the expected sartorial path. She paired her sporty men’s jacket with an ultra-feminine bottom half, opting for a ladylike, white knee-length skirt and a pair of white pointy-toe pumps.

Schafer added another pop of color to her look with a purse that looks like it would belong to Polly Pocket. The Pepto Bismol pink bag expands upon the popular belted bag trend that picked up steam over the last year. While many of the purses that exemplify the trend are more neutral, the actor isn’t afraid of a bold color to work in tandem with the eye-catching silhouette.

While the purse market is as competitive as ever, Hunter Schafer decrees that the belted bag trend isn’t going anywhere this summer.
