In 2023 we saw the rumblings of a geek-chic renaissance, which exploded in early 2024. From the Miu Miu runway to celebrity street style, everyone was adding small eyeglasses to their repertoire. Nobody has been more enthusiastic than Bella Hadid.

The supermodel—and freshly minted Yellowstone star—was spotted leaving the Bowery Hotel in New York wearing a pair of deep red oval frames. Hadid paired her studious specs with a cropped double-breasted suede trench coat and a pair of matching flared trousers, worn over a striped knit Frankies Bikinis crewneck. She accessorized with geometric pearl earrings and a pair of pointy-toe pumps.

Hadid has proven that one needn’t lean all the way into academia aesthetics with their glasses. Yesterday, she rocked her Bayonetta glasses with an all-black ’fit with a cowl-neck top and leather pants with a Saint Laurent belt and bag to boot. Earlier this year, she did give it a business spin in a NSFW Gucci set: a gray micro miniskirt with a matching blazer and a pair of towering monogram platform loafers. And back in October, she wore some wire-rimmed glasses with a rolled-out-of-bed look in a pair of white briefs, a white tank top, and an oversized jacket.

So take heed from Bella Hadid and abandon your contacts for your glasses. Or—if you’re blessed with 20/20 vision—grab a pair of fakes.
