Daisy Edgar-Jones on Conquering Acne, Bangs, and Glasto Beauty

The Vogue Beauty Secrets bathroom sometimes doubles as a confessional. Not only do we learn about your favorite celebrities’ ride-or-die products or the secret behind their signature glam, we also discover how they stay grounded in the craze of it all and their biggest skin concerns. Next up to share? Daisy Edgar-Jones.

The British actor, who assumed the role of Estée Lauder global brand ambassador earlier this year, is big into journaling (seeking joy is a focus of 2026) and skin care. “I had extremely bad acne for most of my teenage years,” she shares. “I have endometriosis, so my hormones are kind of all over the place, but I have found over the years skin care that really works for me.” It’s products like an übergentle cleanser and Advanced Night Repair Serum—something she remembers her own mother using—that are key to keeping skin clear and hydrated. She finishes off the skin care part of the routine with a lo-fi technique used to de-puff, Beauty of Joseon’s Day Dew Sunscreen (discovered on a press tour in Seoul!), and lip hydration.

Next up, Edgar-Jones gives us a glimpse into her makeup routine for “makeup that will last day to night, through a whole festival.” She starts with Double-Wear Foundation (something that would last for four days of Glastonbury, she thinks), blush that she puts “on my cheeks, where the sun would hit, and then I bring it down and across my neck and over the bridge of my nose,” and a Bakeup palm-size eye-shadow palette from makeup artist Jo Baker.

Once it’s finished, Edgar-Jones clues us in to her absolutely perfect bangs. “My absolute all-time beauty icon is Jane Birkin, always for fringe, or ‘bangs’ as they’re called here. I think she was iconically effortless,” she says. And while some people get bangs for unusual reasons, the actor says we should all give it a try at least once in our lives: “I honestly think it’s the bangs that gave me my career. I didn’t get a job, and it made me so sad that I cut my fringe like a breakup haircut. And then I auditioned for Marianne in Normal People, and I got it.”
