First Ladies have long been scrutinized for their fashion choices, as pundits, constituents, and journalists all look for Taylor Swift-level Easter Eggs in their outfits. Dr. Jill Biden knows this better than anybody, having spent the last four years in the White House (and eight more as Second Lady.)

But today, Biden gave us something to talk about, by rewearing a suit that we saw last week. (What could be more relatable than liking an outfit so much that you have the urge to immediately repeat it?) For her appearance on Good Morning America, the First Lady wore a pale blue skirt suit that she wore last week to greet Kenyan President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto ahead of the Kenyan State Dinner at the White House.

The muted blue suit is both modest and feminine, featuring three-quarter sleeves, a nipped waist, and a knee-length skirt. Like her look from the state visit, Biden accessorized with a pair of matching blue-gray pointy-toe pumps.

It’s no surprise that Biden has leaned into blue lately (she’s worn it in a variety of shades for all but one public appearance this month). As the 2024 Presidential election is within sight, it makes sense that the First Lady is dressing in the color of the Democratic Party. Rewearing outfits is another shrewd, politically loaded choice, positioning her as a woman of the people who actually wears her clothes, and an environmentally conscious one at that.

With the Democratic National Convention, public-facing events, and the possibility of debates on the horizon, it will be interesting to see how else Dr. Jill Biden uses fashion as a political tool in the months to come.
