Last night’s Victoria’s Secret show (dubbed the “World Tour”) in New York City drew an array of A-list celebrities, such as Naomi Campbell, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas and Lila Moss. As expected, the attendees showcased head-turning outfits. However, it was the unexpected footwear choices of new-gen fashion It-girls Gigi Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski that truly caught everyone’s eye.
On the pink carpet at The Manhattan Center, Gigi impressed onlookers in a vibrant yellow form-fitting midi-dress from Ferragamo’s fall 2023 collection (look 49, to be precise), featuring a daringly-high thigh slit. She complemented her ensemble with a striking black leather clutch, also from Ferragamo. But what truly set her apart was her unconventional black court heels, which featured an artful inverted heel.
Ratajkowski also embraced the “wrong” shoe trend, which has been popular with TikTokers and Vogue editors alike. Her attire consisted of a black leather set, consisting of a cropped sleeveless top and high-waisted flared trousers. She topped it all off with attention-grabbing black patent leather platform heels, adding even more drama to her outfit. The lesson learned here? Opting for a curveball shoe, like Gigi and EmRata, can make a world of difference in any look.
