When Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner step out together, the duo love to match each other’s style energy. This time, hanging out in New York, they channeled the laidback yet polished spirit of the archetypal West Village girl, with their own West Coast-y details.
Photographed yesterday (October 29) in the aforementioned West Village, Hailey Bieber wore a longline black leather blazer with a shrunken oatmeal-colored cardigan and matching knit top from Joe’s (which makes sense, as Bieber’s stylist acts as Joe’s creative director), black flared suit trousers, loafers and socks. She also added a pair of black, angular sunglasses. It’s a well-established Bieber-in-the-city outfit formula, swapping out her usual more free-flowing look that incorporates an oversized bomber jacket, Gap denim jeans, and flip-flops for something a little bit more closely tailored and refined. She wore her shoulder length brunette hair straight in a center part, with nude almond shaped nails and a hint of a pinky Rhode blush.
Kendall Jenner, beside her, wore a pair of indigo blue straight-leg jeans (an oft-returned to shape for the model when she’s off-duty), a classic white t-shirt, and an on-trend black pea coat, which she styled with a knit bucket hat from (where else?) The Row, and leather ballet flats, also from the Olsens’s label—making the case for the summer’s favored shoe’s fall and winter ascent. To add some interest, Jenner wore an extra-long, cobalt blue scarf. No Aritzia Super Puffs here.
Both Bieber and Jenner are masters of zhuching and elevating their basics; they look to their favorite staple-making brands (La Ligne for knits, Flore Flore for tops, Paloma Wool for separates, The Row for just about everything else) and style them precisely under the tutelage of their stylist Dani Michelle. Even a shopping trip to Brandy Melville will lead to positive results.
When they’re doing something a bit more glitzy together, the pair can either walk sartorially hand-in-hand or explore other parts of their individual style spectrums, but always remain on more or less the same fashion rhythm. Take their recent turn on the Academy Museum Gala red carpet; Bieber opted for a sculptural corset dress by Schiaparelli, while Kendall went pared back in a black dress by The Row. And for a KHY event, the duo both went all-in on all-leather.
Whether hitting up Brandy, the red carpet, or the West Village, you can trust a Hailey-Kendall girls day (or night) is going to hit.
