This fall, Jennifer Lawrence has gone into full movie star mode.
After taking a bit of a hiatus to focus on motherhood, the A-lister is back with a new film, Die, My Love, co-starring Robert Pattinson. The two actors have been on a whirlwind press tour for the Lynne Ramsay-directed project which will be released tomorrow. And while Lawrence is known for delivering fully glamorous red carpet moments at her various premieres (including plenty of new Jonathan Anderson’s new Dior); last night she stepped out in New York City wearing one of her most unexpectedly unfussiest (and coolest) looks yet.
Hitting the streets, Lawrence emerged in a contemporary look from Lii’s spring 2026 collection. Designer Zane Li, who hails from Chongqing, China, is known for his clean-yet-sculptural creations, and Lawrence fully embraced the sartorial mood. The star chose his asymmetric boxy white tee and shapely black mini skirt, just as it appeared on his spring catwalk.
Her modern styling proved that, yes, with the right updated silhouette, a white T-shirt can be formal for nighttime. The key lied in its structure and hefty weight. Her accessories helped make it feel super elevated, too, like her itty-bitty ’90s shades and satin bowed mules.
Of course, Lawrence is not alone in her choice of rocking a fashion-forward tee for fall. With ruching or lacing details, plenty of brands are putting new stamps on the enduring wardrobe staple, and Lawrence is keeping the movement going with a more dressy feel. The next time you want to roll up to a party and stand out in a sea of sequin cocktail dresses? Take an interesting white tee and pair it with your boldest statement skirt. It will instantly have the J.Law effect—and don’t forget the fab shoe, duh.
