With Jennifer Lawrence’s most recent look on my mind, I was listening to an episode of the podcast Ride in which Mary Beth Barone declared: “There’s nothing harder than dating a straight man looking to buy a leather jacket,” before going on to outline the trials and tribulations of the hunt. “It’s about the shape, it’s about the color, it’s too much.” And honestly, I must agree. The quest for the perfect leather jacket is an elusive one, no matter who you are. Do you go Tom Cruise in Top Gun, or lean into a little Danny Zuko energy? Like the hunt for the perfect white t-shirt, once you open Pandora’s box, it can be hard to shut your eyes to the onslaught of leather on offer.
Thankfully, we can look to our favourite A-listers (and their well-informed stylists) to lead the way. Jennifer Lawrence—the new queen of understated street style—has continued her well-dressed run in those-in-the-know’s favourite label: Róhe. Beloved by editors and fashion insiders alike, the Amsterdam-based brand is quietly and quickly becoming the go-to for elevated basics, without the eye-watering price tag of The Row.
Now deep into her current press tour, Lawrence has also been enjoying the new spoils of her longtime Dior ambassadorship, with Jonathan Anderson’s inaugural designs from his debut Dior womenswear show. Attending the 2025 Rome Film Festival, she dressed in Anderson’s look 56: a dusty gray-brown pullover with black cuffs and a matching V-neck collar draped over her shoulders, juxtaposed with a gauzy white polka-dot skirt with a black ribbon separating the two bubble tiers. Elsewhere, her film festival circuit wardrobe has featured vintage Armani Privé and doubled up Phoebe Philo.
But back to this stellar leather, in which Lawrence was photographed in at an afternoon tea event held for Die, My Love in London. In keeping with the Jennifer Lawrence quiet-luxury agenda, it might just be the perfect jacket. Treading the line between sleek and boxy, it has deep, structured pockets and pairs beautifully with a simple white tee and jeans. If you want to take a leaf out of the Die, My love actor’s perfectly understated wardrobe, move quickly. This insider-approved leather jacket won’t hang around forever.
