Here she comes, it’s Katie Holmes with another it-bag for fall. This time, bringing the butter yellows and tomato reds of summer with her.

The actor and director was photographed out and about in New York City yesterday (September 17), toting the much-coveted Private Eye bag from Métier in buttery nappa leather and a shade of pomodoro red with brass hardware. She matched the bag to her red ballet flats, and wore a pale yellow oversized shirt from The Anteros with panelled, two-tone blue baggy jeans from Levis and aviator sunglasses.

A pop of red is a true Katie Holmes calling card, usually with an aforementioned ballet shoe. Sitting front row of Fforme’s spring summer 2026 show at New York Fashion Week, she wore the brand’s sleeveless red trench style Lennox coat over the high neck, longsleeve red satin Mila dress with a drop waist and flowing skirt, and just a peep of a round toe red shoe on show. A true tripling down on red for the season.

Holmes also has an ever-growing collection of covetable it-bags. Recently, she’s been toting the new and improved Max Mara Whitney Bag 7 in a chocolate brown shade and Marni’s Tulipea bag. Her wider collection includes a classic quilted Chanel 19 Flap Bag, the sleek Perriand top-handle city bag by Métier London, the trapezoid Akris Ai shoulder bag, an iconic Celine Triomphe, and several shapes and sizes from her go-tos Manu Atelier (it-girl staple, Le Cambon, is a fave) and Khaite.

Having wrapped shooting her film Happy Hours just at the end of summer—acting as star, writer, and director on the project—and with a brief dalliance with fashion month wrapped, expect more laidback chic looks from Katie Holmes for your fall moodboard.
