Kendall Jenner has a penchant for vintage Gucci, from the brand’s Tom Ford-era Horsebit clutch (which was recently reissued on the runway) to the designer’s python flap bag from the spring 2000 collection. It seems, though, that the model has a new favorite piece in her ever-growing collection: the less-well-known Abbey bag.
First launched in the early Noughties, the Abbey shoulder bag, with its D-ring hardware, is much more nondescript compared to the blingy Horsebit—perfectly in keeping with the IYKYK (if-you-know-you-know) mood that’s dominating fashion right now. Continuing the understated theme, Jenner paired the bag with a white tank top, luxe jeans by Khaite, a brown leather bomber jacket and the trainers of the moment: the Adidas Sambas.
It’s not the first time that Jenner has been spotted with the Abbey bag, with the star pairing the accessory with a vintage Prada dress and Gucci Horsebit boots last September. Given that the model tends to favor minimalist accessories from the likes of The Row, it’s no surprise that she’s fallen for the anonymous nature of Gucci’s Abbey bag.
As Jenner—the trendsetter that she is—was actually spotted with Gucci’s Horsebit clutch before it was reissued on the runway, could another Noughties bag revival be on the cards? Only time will tell.
