Meghan Markle joined Prince Harry onstage at the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany in a dress that could—quite literally—be in your own closet.
For her inaugural appearance at this year’s sporting competition for wounded members if the armed services, the “Friends @ Home Event,” the Duchess rocked a black shirt dress from Banana Republic Factory. The staple piece, which retails for $140 (but is currently on sale for $70) is a welcome addition to any closet. Markle’s style features a pleated A-line skirt and long sleeves, which she chose to roll up to her elbows.
Markle chose to accentuate her waist with a black woven Bottega Veneta belt in lieu of the original dress’s fabric tie, and wore a pair of black Aquazarra stiletto heels. Keeping jewelry minimal, she wore a small pair of hoops, a pinky ring, her gold wristwatch, and, endearingly, a beaded bracelet. The personal styling decisions made it all feel more elevated than merely grabbing a black dress off the rack. Plus, they’re all easy to copy, should you be inspired.
