It’s been a big week for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, out on the east coast promoting Rocky’s latest album Don’t be Dumb. Every appearance, of course, comes with a liberal serving of looks—Rihanna embraced the current trend for 2016 fashion, denim-on-denim, and cozy weather dressing done the Rihanna way. Now, having jetted off to Paris, the couple have gone Matrix mode.
Rocky was performing at the Gala Des Pièces Jaune (a line-up that also included Christina Aguilera, Stray Kids, Gims, G-Dragon, and Future), and after, headed to the celebrity favorite Italian joint Siena with Rih—though certainly, it’s no Giorgio Baldi.
Both opted for all-black and leathers: Rihanna donned a curve-necked, cocoon leather jacket from the Givenchy spring 2026 collection by Sarah Burton, with a black nappa leather draped midi skirt underneath, and barely there stilettos. She toted a black croc Dior clutch and a furry stole, and also wore a leather scarf, drop earrings, and the Collier de Venus Blanc gold and diamond necklace by Sophie Bille Brahe. Her freshly chopped set of bangs brushed the top of her angular sunglasses.
Rocky, beside her, kept to his own sleek and tailored monochromatic look. The rapper sported a collarless wool suit jacket with woven lapels and cuffs, a crystal brooch fastened at the front pocket, with matching tailored trousers, a pale pink shirt and red tie, patent black shoes, and Ray-Ban sunglasses.
It’s not often the couple choose to go monochromatic, but the slick ease of going Matrix mode felt right for Paris after back-to-back engagements in New York. Across the pond, Rocky was rocking high-octane tailoring and graphic outerwear via fresh-off-the-runway Chanel and Saint Laurent. Rih, meanwhile, made the case for the return of the much maligned tiger print, but has a longheld penchant for python, stripes, and sherbet tones.
When it comes to styling all-black, Rihanna is anything but basic, gaming contrast and texture and skin (and bump) exposing looks via Alaïa and Jean Paul Gaultier. Trust Rihanna to always keep us guessing where she’ll land on the color wheel.
