At tonight’s 2024 BAFTAs, actor Sandra Hüller was up for not one, but two awards: best leading actress, for her captivating performance in Justine Triet’s Anatomy of a Fall (we still haven’t recovered from this amazing monologue), and best supporting actress, for her role in Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest. “I feel grateful and honored to be nominated twice, especially because both films are extraordinary and have the capacity to reach everyone,” Hüller told Vogue.
While both films have been racking up nominations throughout awards season, including at the upcoming Oscars, Hüller pulled out all the fashion stops for tonight’s BAFTAs. Dressed in a custom Louis Vuitton design, the star opted for a pearl grey satin gown with a gathered top and train. “I love the open back of the dress with the buttons,” says Hüller of the look. “The lightness of it, the shimmering color. I feel safe and strong in it.” She punctuated the ensemble with silver leather sandals and Vuitton’s classic trunk-style, quilted leather clutch.
While her BAFTAs look shined, it’s certainly not the first stellar style moment from Hüller, who has been delivering plenty of elegant fashion moments throughout awards season. (In fact, she was also one of Vogue’s best dressed celebrities of last year.) Based on her red carpet track record, and her (somehow!) refined take on disco ball dressing this evening, we’re surely in for a serious fashion treat come Oscars Sunday. For that, we wait with bated breath.
