From the Fendi Baguette to the Dior Saddle, Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw has long been known for her enviable bag collection. But now, it seems SJP has found a new It bag to add to her own wardrobe, in the form of Gabriela Hearst’s Nina.
While visiting the Sex and the City 25th anniversary exhibition in Manhattan, Parker was spotted carrying the New York-based designer’s signature bag in gold, black and white stripes – a limited-edition piece that featured in Hearst’s spring 2023 collection, which was inspired by the Ancient Greek poet Sappho. The actor wore the bag with the brand’s black-and-white Lani dress, featuring a corseted bodice, along with a pair of Mary-Jane pumps.

Hearst’s Nina bag – named after singer and activist Nina Simone – has attracted a whole host of A-list fans since it first launched in 2016, including Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, Angelina Jolie and Amal Clooney. Known for her sustainability credentials, it’s no surprise that the designer’s Nina style – along with the smaller Demi – has been so popular for those looking for a new, more eco-conscious kind of luxury.
With Carrie Bradshaw embracing vintage and more sustainably-minded fashion choices (look out for her upcycled pieces this season), we could easily see the Nina bag in the wardrobe of SJP’s most famous character, too.
