If summer’s It skirt was the little white tennis mini, then fall’s is the tartan check. The kilt-like skirts are everywhere—Monse, Molly Goddard, Saint Laurent, and Christopher Kane have all adopted the classic print in every silhouette from pleated A-line to pencil.
And these warm, woolen tartan skirts are offered in color palettes beyond the red check. There are green- and blue-hued plaids—reminiscent of prepster school uniforms—and khaki-white-and-red versions that offer a little less vibrancy. We’re even seeing skirts done up in that iconic Clueless yellow.
