Taylor Swift is in her Father Era. The singer made a pit stop at Electric Lady Studios in New York on Tuesday, wearing a lowkey look that (perhaps with a few substitutions) could be found on a dad stationed at a barbecue.
Swift kept it simple in a sheer black ribbed tank top, shiny navy cargo pants, a pair of black platform boots, and a tan shoulder bag slung over her wrist. In keeping with her pared-down look, she wore basic gold jewelry: a bracelet on each wrist, layered gold necklaces, a single ring on her middle finger, and a series of diamond earrings.
But the focal point of Swift’s look was her tan corduroy baseball cap, which she wore over two pigtail braids. The Ralph Lauren cotton chino ball cap has become something of a staple among celebrities. Kendall Jenner recently paired her navy hat with a mid-length white dress and thong kitten heels, while Jennifer Lawrence wore hers with an oversized white tee, black silk pants, and black sandals.
The look (namely the hat) is a much more masculine choice for Swift, who is known for her trademark feminine style. She was last spotted at Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff’s New Jersey wedding, where she wore a pale blue lace Erdem dress. At their rehearsal dinner she opted for a black skirt set from Hill House Home.
Whether this was a temporary departure from her sweet style, or maybe a sign of a new era, we’re “Enchanted” by Taylor Swift’s dad hat.
