Live from New York…it’s Teyana Taylor!
Last night, the star hosted Saturday Night Live, and she was the perfect choice to do so. The first-time Oscar nominee stopped by the lot amid her awards season campaign, buoyed by her compelling performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. (Geese, meanwhile, served as the musical guest of the episode.)
Given Taylor is always one to deliver a bold style moment on the red carpet (remember her bijoux Schiaparelli thong at the Golden Globes?), it was no surprise that she brought some major statement fashions to the SNL sound stage. Taylor channeled perfect New Yorker style to do so—embodying looks that were filled with attitude and a cool edge. It’s simply the New York way.
Her opening monologue look, for one, included a sequined white “I Love New York” tee, complete with detachable red furry sleeves and black leather trousers. It’s a piece that makes total sense, both thematically and personally: Taylor is born-and-raised in Harlem. “I’m a Harlem girl, and I love New York—but it’s freezing out here,” she joked. (She isn’t wrong: New York is in the midst of a brutal snow storm.) “No wonder why us New Yorkers be so agitated—cuz, bitch, we cold!”
In a promo video with Geese, Taylor also rocked an edgy all-leather look that also screamed downtown. The cropped oxblood top, long opera gloves, and pink skirt was courtesy of the Balenciaga spring 2026 collection, from designer Pierpaolo Piccioli’s debut for the label. (Plus, the ab-bearing silhouette? So Teyana Taylor—she’s among Hollywood’s most sculpted.)
While her own personal style shined on SNL, even her costumes donned for the skits could not help but be eye-catching, too. In one sketch where she was helping SNL’s Ashley Padilla get revenge on a co-worker, she donned a graphic hoodie and One Battle After Another tee, with huge bangles and a classic New York Yankees cap. Promoting her Oscar-nominated movie and her own native city in one slick outfit? That’s fashion talent. Though, not to be missed is her tropical Backstab Island outfit, or her cosplaying as an ESPN reporter. Is there anything she cannot pull off?
