With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, let this be your reminder, should you need one, to book a table somewhere nice now. On the other hand, if your dream Valentine’s Day evening is a cozy night in with the Winter Olympics going, you may just be on to something; the Olympic Village is filled with endearing, real-life couples to stoke your own romantic fire (and hopefully blot out the memory of that one Norwegian biathlete announcing that he cheated on his girlfriend. Hiss! Boo!).
Here, we’ve rounded up our very favorite couples from the 2026 Winter Olympics circuit to remind us all that love can be found anywhere… even on the ice rink.
Madison Chock and Evan Bates
It really doesn’t get more rom-com-ready than this; these Olympic ice dancers married in 2024 after becoming skating partners in 2011 and dating for six years. “Getting married means I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend,” Chock told People on the occasion of her wedding to Bates. “We will face the future and share all of life s moments together, supporting and celebrating each other.”
Hilary Knight and Brittany Bowe
Hockey icon Knight and speed-skating queen Bowe have been dating since 2022, with their love taking flight amid COVID restrictions at the Beijing Winter Olympics: “She asked if I wanted to go on a walk,” Bowe has said of Knight at the start of their relationship. “That became our routine. We’d walk the Village after dinner and just talk. It was cool living in a bubble and not having outside distractions.” Adorable!
Kaysha Love and Hunter Powell
These Team USA bobsledders met in college at the University of Nevada, and their origin story couldn’t be sweeter: Love actually convinced Powell, who started out in track and field, to try out bobsledding, and the rest was history. (Always listen to your partner!) The pair got engaged last July, meaning the 2026 Winter Olympics aren’t the only big event in their immediate future.
Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey
These Montreal-based ice hockey stars are more real-life proof that winter sports can lead to wedding bells. The two married in 2024, with Poulin telling CBC that year: “I’ve always been the hockey player. But I have a wife and I can be myself. People are coming to the rink and saying thank you for allowing me to be myself.”
Red Gerard and Hailey Langland
These snowboarders met at age 12 during training and started dating eight years ago, when they were both 17. Their love story has only bloomed since then; Gerard became the youngest snowboarder ever to win an Olympic event at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, and although an ACL injury forced Langland to step away from competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics, the couple are still clearly each other’s biggest fans.
