Wimbledon has played host to a number of memorable moments over the years, from John McEnroe’s famous on-court outbursts to Serena Williams’s historic seven women’s singles wins. Meanwhile, Virginia Wade was the last British woman to win the women’s singles title in 1977, while Andy Murray memorably lifted the men’s singles trophy in 2013 and 2016.

Off the court, a whole series of famous spectators have graced the Royal Box on Centre Court over the years, from Princess Diana to Princess Grace of Monaco. In more recent years, the current Princess of Wales—a keen tennis fan and patron of the Lawn Tennis Association since 2017—has often been seen cheering in the crowd, while Beyoncé was also spotted supporting friend Serena Williams in the Wimbledon final in 2016.
