Images of the Week: Mourning the Victims of the Uvalde School Shooting

Two teachers and 19 children were killed this week at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. It was the deadliest school shooting since Sandy Hook in 2012. President Joe Biden said in an address, “I had hoped when I became president I would not have to do this again. Why are we willing to live with this carnage? Why do we keep letting this happen?” The nation has mourned the victims of the attack. One of the most public celebrities who paid their respects was Meghan Markle, who flew to Uvalde and dropped off snacks for donors at a blood drive in town.

President Biden also signed an executive order on policing on the two year anniversary of George Floyd’s killing by Minneapolis ex-policeman Derek Chauvin. Among other things, it directs federal law enforcement to revise their use-of-force policies.

The Cannes Film Festival is finishing up in France, with high profile supermodels and actors heating up the red carpet. Props to Deepika Padukone and Bella Hadid, just to name two, for keeping the Croisette interesting.

Earlier this week, Balenciaga showed its most recent resort collection at the New York Stock Exchange. On the runway was their highly anticipated collaboration with Adidas and gimp masks.

Finally, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker tied the knot in Portofino, Italy. The bride wore a custom Dolce Gabbana mini dress with mesh fingerless gloves and a dramatic veil.
