From The Pitt’s ER to NYFW: Supriya Ganesh Hits Her First Fashion Week

Given that Supriya Ganesh is starring in one of the buzziest shows of the moment—as Dr. Samira Mohan on The Pitt, duh!—it may be surprising to hear that the actor marked her very first New York Fashion Week this season. Yesterday, the actor hit up the Michael Kors fall 2026 show, amongst fellow celebrities such as Dakota Fanning and Mary J. Blige in the front row. “I remember watching this event take over the city as an outside (envious) observer, so I’m soaking it all in,” Ganesh says, post-show. “I really love fashion as an expression of self, so seeing the variety of looks and styles across the runways is so fun for me.”
Talk about a great way to mark her first NYFW: There was plenty of glamour to take in at Michael Kors. “It was a gorgeous, gorgeous show,” says Ganesh. “There was a lovely interpolation between clean lines, but also flowing silhouettes. I loved the color palettes of grey, red, and blue.” Though it was hard to pinpoint favorite looks, the star did eye a few standouts coming down the catwalk. “I remember being completely taken by the second look, and also a belted leather trench coat,” she says. “The beauty also stood out to me—so many fresh bold red lips!”
Of course, given her front-row status, Ganesh also had her own outfit to consider. She says she wanted to lean into classic elegance, but also go all-in on a sprightly color choice, slipping into a pretty pink monochromatic look. “I instantly gravitated towards this pink ensemble in my fitting,” says Ganesh. “I loved that it was drapey—almost like it fell from the sky and landed perfectly on whoever was wearing it. The belt was interesting, structurally, as well! I don’t think I’ve seen one like that before—I love something that looks intentionally undone.”
The actor is not a total stranger to playing dress-up, however: She has, after all, been navigating red carpet dressing throughout this entire awards season, given that The Pitt has been nominated again and again. As a result, the star says she feels like she is finally coming into her own in terms of style identity. “It’s been so freeing to know what to say no to—mainly, if I’m going to be uncomfortable, I won’t wear it,” she says. (A good rule to live by.) “I love to play around with a wide range of clothes, and to experiment with my glam to complement the look. I like it when everything comes together to form a cohesive image.”
At the beginning of March, she will be putting all of that fashion knowledge to the test when she attends the Actor Awards alongside her castmates. (The Pitt—which you simply must watch if you’re not already—is nominated for best ensemble.) “I got my SAG card in 2022—I can’t believe I’m nominated only four years later,“ says Ganesh. “To be recognized by my peers—and to be on a cast of such talented people who are also recognized—is so special, .” Once awards season is wrapped, however, Ganesh admits that she is looking forward to engaging in a little me time as well. “Honestly, I’m excited to spend time with my cat,” she says. “She’s very confused about why I keep leaving at 5 in the morning and coming back after dinner time.”
