[Tim] You re in purple.

Yes, exactly, it goes with the stones.

[dramatic music]

It s typical of Karl Lagerfeld,

that he sees a cubist exhibition in Prague,

and from that he spins this huge fashion fantasy.

But at the heart of it,

there s always a solid core of clothes

[dramatic music]

Tell me about the stones.

What is more modern?

This looks like a city of skyscrapers

who had explodes in a way.

So I think nature is not such a bad designer.

And the other inspiration, in terms of cuts

and shapes of the embroidery, is Czech Cubism.

Cause I thought it was an interesting expression.

I loved all of these geometric shapes

that he was giving us.

And the colors and textures,

everything was so cohesive and beautiful.

I think the contrast of the textures,

the bit of glitter with the stripes,

a little bit 80s, but in a really modern way.

It was so much about the new proportions,

bigger shoulders, more space

between the body and the clothes.

But he did it in a very modern way because it was soft.

And in the language of Chanel, that means in tweed.

[Tim] A lot more color.

Yeah a lot more color.

Amazing to see purples and greens and sheer pinks.

I love this kind of, you know, chiffon

in the different colors with the skirts.

That breaks the pants and the jackets.

So it s very good balance even in the way to show.

You know the gray coat with the...

So gorgeous.

I mean, I was really in love with everything.

Even all the colors.

And I m not a color girl, but,

I am for Karl.

[Tim] You used a lot more color than usual.

Yes, but it was time.

You know, last season it was all gray, black and duller.

The Summer was very pastel.

So, I felt this, you know, you do what you feel.

[Tim] There s always something that looks

new and seductive, but wearable.

That s why it s so different from anyone else.

Because he makes you dreaming,

but at the same times, you know that you could wear.

Karl always has a sense of the times.

He has an incredible awareness

of young girls on the street

and what they want to wear.

So it looks fresh.

He s very fresh.

He s very fresh.
